input and output ro/di average TDS ppm?

What is the avg incoming and outgoing TDS for your RO/DI? What type of water source do you have it hooked up to? We are on well water and I typically get anywhere between 520-600ppm on the input side. On the output the lowest I have got is 13ppm. It averages around 20. Is this because my incoming TDS are so high? Here are some pictures of my filters after 4 months. Just replaced last them weekend and just got the TDS meter. The whole unit is just 5 months old. Should I replace the DI resin already as well? Are there any other filters in the unit besides the 3 that I have replaced and the DI resin ? Thanks for the input all!

You can add another di cartridge if you like to get your 13 even lower,Im on city water and 60 Tds in and zero out,I have basically the same unit as you,I change filters every 2 months.Use the TDs Meter to tell you when to change them I would think about adding another Di to get that zero closer.

Ditto, iv got 342 TDS, going in & 000 TDS, comming out, & i use a in line TDS Meter, it it's a good idea to get a back flush valve kit for your R/O membrain, it will last alot longer,

While it was flushing I had my TDS meter turned on and even though there is no filtered water being made, it is still showing TDS of 29... does this mean the unit wasnt calibrated right? Sorry still new to the whole tds meter thing.... here is a pic of the one I have...

Well the fiters tell alot, They are getting dirty pretty fast and look like algae, Your well water is rough, That is very high TDS readings going in. The % thing is for ro water only, They say 10 % coming out of the RO of thet what is going in, I don't buy that, but thats what the makers say. But for DI water it needs to be 0 TDS coming out. not to say a few ppm is bad , better then what You are starting out with. I change my pre filter, carbon and DI every three months. To keep them down to 0

It would be a good idea to do a complete water test on what kind of water you are sending to your unit, Do a test straight from your tap! { phosphate, Nitrite, Nitrate, Ammionia, Alakalinity, PH, Ect, then you have somthing to go by,, before you test ya need a baseline, are you will not figure it out, some well's proudce alot of oxygen, that will deplete the DI cartridge rapidly, Call ask for Scott , http://www.spectrapure.com/
Brent.
Been there Done that! :freak:

Just checked my TDS going in and its 27 PPM. Coming out was 3 PPM. Only just set up my RO 4 stage Unit today.

Looks like your values are high. I guess thats bad. Looks like our scottish water is mint clean. Ill let the unit run and keep draining as required. I would guess we are aiming for 0 PPM on the outlet. As long as the phosphate is out. Im happy.

I'd say the incoming water is extremely potent in heavy metals and nitrates, phosphates and such if you're not gettin < 3ppm.

My water going in is roughly 200 and coming out is 0. It's higher, though, coming out when I replace the DI resin or the carbon filters. Just a thought :D
