Went to the lfs today and picked up the Kreisel tank I will use for raising seahorse fry, if I get different batches at different time I will set up my old system I used in the past. It’s in the attic.
here are some photos, it’s 30x30 has the light, skimmer and are for biological filtration. He had it custom made and paid over two grand I got it for a fraction of the cost. Needs cleaning and he hardly used it.
I also picked up snails forseahorse tank and a kenya tree
So that's how it works, pretty simple, This is jut air powered, I have my DYI systems that work the same way, I used Tom Aqua lifters in the pass for it. The advantage of mine is I could do multiple batch's of differ aged fry at the same time and keep them separated.
Could you use something like a breeding trap? Like the ones you use for guppies? Hang in the side with a slotted divider at the bottom to let the babies drop through to the lower half of the container to be safe. No idea how it would work with a seahorse.
The main reason I missed this batch was the fact of being sick and just getting out of the hospital. I need to focus on Getty everything set up with fresh salt water made up at all times. Get my green water going and rotifers going along with baby brine shrimp.
