Well I may be off to the store to get an emerald crab then. Will it also take care of a minor hair algae problem that is popping up on a few of my rocks?

 

sally light foot crabs are of satan. they either die for no apparent reason, or they disappear for months and months, then reappear 3 times the original size and eat small fish and coral polyps.

 

Ahhhh....don't flame the Sally Lightfoot. It is probably my favorite inhabitant in the tank. It never bothers anyone and it picks at the rocks constantly. I spend about 15 minutes a day just watching him crawling all over my rocks. I am just fascinated by him.

 

nah sally's are good
true they get huge, but their pinchers are so tiny. they dart out at fish but they dont do any damage
i have found that they need to be fed or they starve to death
i feed mine shrimp pellets which he battles the hermits for. sadly the sally doesnt have such a great grip and loses the pellet within minutes to the hermits

 

My sally lightfoot is so much faster than the hermits that they don't have a chance of catching him.
