It sounds like your impeller may be stuck or misaligned, causing the ticking noise and lack of water flow. Since there’s no gasket in the leaking area, the issue could be a poor seal due to misalignment or wear. Check the impeller, hoses for blockages, and inspect the canister for cracks. If the problem persists, priming the filter again might help, or you may need to replace worn parts.

 

I think I will probably need a whole new top end as it is leaking from around the edges.
