A couple weeks ago many of us jumped on the deal from Petsmart on the Mag drive pumps, they were on back order, but we were able to still order them anyways. It's been a while without word from petsmart, so I called Petsmart customer service and asked if the backorderd pump orders were cancelled or if they would still be honored. The lady said that the pumps are still on back order and that they probably won't ship out for another week to a week and a half. I made sure to ask again if my order and orders of the like were not canceled and if they will indeed still send out the pumps to us once they get them in stock, she confirmed that they would still be sent out to all of us. So it SEEMS that we will actually get the pumps we ordered. Hopefully the customer service rep that I spoke to is right.

Shipping this week? Hmmm, I guess my customer service lady didn't know what she was talking about...oh well. I believe that the mag 7 or mag 9.5 were in the neighborhood of about 30-50 bucks, does this sound right guys? I ordered a mag 12

Wow... I went to order 2 mag 7's for those prices.. but my credit card wasnt working, and then i went to try the next morning and they werent for sale anymore... so i called the customer support, to ask them to give me for the sale price that i just missed and she said they would, and then she went on saying, how they werent on sale for that price. then i talked to someone "in charge" and he said they were never on sale, and it was a website error, otherwise it would be in their computer.

yep, so i missed on the sale... ended up buying a mag 7 for 55 bucks, could've gotten two for like 70 :(

Both pumps are manufactured by Danner. Supreme being their aquarium label and pondmaster being their-you guessed it-pond label. Main difference is that the pondmasters have a longer cord to allow it to still reach power when its positioned in that water feature in your yard-i want to say 18ft? The supreme Mag Drive is the identical pump with about a 10ft cord (more than enough if you ask me). The screws that attach the volute used to be different (plastic on the supreme, metal on the pondmaster)-but i believe they both use stainless now (the plastic jobbers stripped wayyyyyyyyyyy too ez).

as far as i'm concerned they're both just "Mag Drives"

Got mine yesterday as well. Looks like the 12's have a new prefilter. It's been a while since I've used a Mag, so I hope they go a little longer before failing to re-start. :(
