decreased evaporation....why?

I've got a perplexing problem (at least to me). I've been evaporating about 15 liters of water a day (tons of light, fans, etc). Well, lately I have noticed my sump level is rising. I checked my litermeter and it's correct so I'm not adding more water than expected, so this (I think) means I'm not evaporating water as expected.

Silly question but, in colder weather, the humidity is less correct, and therefore less evaporation as everything else holds the same?

Figured someone could figure this out in a jiffy! :)

thanks,
Chris

Probably a decrease in the room/tank temps that is keeping the evaporation down. Also check your return pump to make sure it doesn't need to be cleaned. It may be getting clogged and not flowing as much water as usual thereby causing the sump to be fuller. Check the water l3evel in the tank to make sure it's at it's normal level and not down slightly.

Another thought, are you running a humidifier becuase of the cold weather? I find my tanks evaporate a lot less when the house humidity goes up.

Thanks for all the replies.

There's no humidifier, but there is a dehumidifier.
The fans are on 24x7 not controlled by anything
The tank temp is maybe down 1-2 degrees at most.
The humidity in my place is down, maybe 10% +/- a couple

thanks,
Chris
