What size Little Giant do you have? I have a 9.5 laying in the floor of my fishroom right now not being used. It's almost new; not even any rust on the screws yet .

Depends on the MAG...some come with stainless screws (pond pumps) and the other come with screws that won't rust (standard pumps). I think they are just coated in something, but are still stainless....some genious had to figure out the savings by only dipping one set of screws and not all of them.

I've read you can put clear nail polish on them after you have put them in. Just let it dry good before putting back into the tank.

is that the only difference from pond and normal mag drives? My little giant is a little rusty, about 3 years old, but ran well before tear down.

The only difference is that the pond mag has an 18' cord.

Yep, that and the already mentioned screw heads..... They usually charge more for the pond version because of the longer cord....

Actually my rep said they use the same screws on both models.

And the pond ones come in a blue box

LOL Hmmmmmm they must have changed them then....Now that I look on the shelf, I don't have any pond pumps and they do now have the stainless screws....but my older ones at home have the black screws....another cost cutting measure brought to you by Danner Mfg.
