white stuff on rock

I have noticed lately that there are white bloches on my live rock. Is this normal? Im starting to get macro algea and there is white stuff all over the place.

How big are these blotches? Any other tank inhabitants? My guess is that someone is picking at the rock for food. . .

I have a sea urchin that leaves white blotches after it is done grazing for the night and green algae grows over it and sometimes the purple comes back!:)

I have the same problem, but I got anenomes. Would it be the crabs eating it ?

ya something like that, i just have clowns in my tank, tho i think one of my percs is gonna die. But its not rocks that are splashed from the powerhed and i have no crabs, just wondering if this is good or bad.

Hmm...I got some of that from my Anenomes when they moved when I first got them...
