I bought a pink birds nest a few weeks ago and after a week the bottom started to turn from its bright pink color to a gross black color. Right under the plug there was a very light pink anemone like creature on the bottom of the plug and there are some very tiny ones growing on the coral. I think it might be aiptasia but thats why I came here. I can only find pictures online that are of a full grown anemone and not when it is small.
I cannot find my camera right now but if I do ill post a picture.
I can only say that it is a pink almost transparent and it bulbs up when I take it out of the water.
Thanks

Do they move? Try taking a couple of pictures/ or even drawing some simple sketches a few hours apart and see. If so might be nudibranchs.

Anyway, I would try and remove the "anemones" and see if the black area recovers. If not you might have to frag off the living portion and glue it to a fresh plug.
