anybody here is chilling (successfully)with the 1/10 hp. PCI chiller???

I am using it on my 90 with a 50 sump no problem. I am contemplating using one on my 225 with a 80 sump. I personally think it will work just fine, but want other input before i order it.

???
thanks

With 300 gallons total, I might bump up a size.

It would really depend on how much pull down you needed. I think it would be a waist of money but I don't know about your perticular application. I have been looking into a 1/2 horse for 1-2 degree pulldown with a total water volume of 395 gallons. Worse case schenario would be that would have to buy a second chiller. I am with butch on this one better safe than sorry and go with 1/6 horse or even a 1/4 horse.

It really depends on how much you need to cool it. If you add a bunch of fans blowing on the surface of the water you won't need a chiller at all, so if you add a few less fans then a 1/10 HP will work great. I had a 50G with 2*250W MH and 2*55W PC cooled with only fans, here in AZ where temps hit 120.
