hmm... do you have a tripod? or are you able to use a faster shutter speed?
also try turning off the pumps when you take the picture so that you dont get little white things buzzing by in the pic

hard to tell but looks like a sponge to me. found one in my tank not long ago. blow it off with a baster and look close. if its a sponge you'll see all the pores.

does it look like sponge? really pourous? or like eggs inside a webbing type stuff? if it looks like sponge, it is, did you flip that rock recently, usually they grow underneath rocks. or out of the light mainly.

It looks like an encrusting Clathria sp sponge, that is not doing to well.

It is a filter feeder you can try to target fed it with plankton. Look for DT's like Twiitt just mentioned
