What do you think of this for a 24 gallon pod? How far from the surface would I put it?

I would buy it and I would put it as close as I could with out heat issues. Perhaps I would by and 1/10 horse chiller for it.

I thought if I got it I would hang it from the ceiling. I could do away with the stock hood altogether. How far from the top of the tank would I hang it? It's a 24 gallon aquapod. Dont want to fry anyone.

Oooh. I can get this and build my own canopy and just take my 2 pc ballast one on each side of the mh. Save a ton of money and I got a ton of wood. This is $60

The 150W would be fine for an Aquapod at about 7-10" or so above the water. Assuming these come with a 14K DE bulb you probably wouldn't need any supplemental actinic.
