I set up a nano reef that is already an established and well cycled tank....this morning there were small miniture snails with
a seemingly hard shell all over the place.....

the shell is like one of those SPIRAL type of shells....

friend or foe of tank? Anyone know?

they are prolly baby cerith snails. if they are black in colour. mine are breeding like bunnies now. i must have a couple 100 of the little buggers scooting around!
