Could someone recommend a site or article I could read regarding water chemistry, especially calcium and alkalinity. I'm starting up with SPS and want to learn more about where my parameters should be. Thank you.

If you get overwhelmed.....dont worry.....we ALL do by a lot of what Tom says as well as a lot of whats in this par tof the forum. Read up and come back and ask questions on specifics that are stumping you.There is enough reading for months in there.

nah... it is really simple. get your calcium in check and the alk and ph will pop into place too.

No specific questions yet. I am just starting up my 3rd tank, and planning on keeping sps so I know it's very important to keep my water parameters stable and my calcium and alkalinity balanced. I bought the salifert calcium test and my first test came out around 280 on calcium, so it was pretty low. I am going to read up tomorrow, test again, and then I'll post if I have any specific questions. Thanks again.
