I've got some of them on my rock also. To the best of my knowledge, they cause no harm, except for sometimes being attached to a spot I'd prefer to use for aquascaping or putting a new coral. They may even be somewhat beneficial, since they are filter feeders that take up some DOCs and bacteria and such.
According to Julian Sprung ("Invertebrates: A Quick Reference Guide", page 128) they are "Ornamental. Reef Safe". HTH

Thanks Phantom.... I agree they are definetly in the way... everytime.
Kinda was hoping for an excuse to feed them to the rest of the tank. I had knocked off byaccident and the hermits went wild feasting. The shell was cleaned in hours. Now the'll stay:D

No problem.

Yeah, I've had a couple of them drop off the rock. But they were still alive, and I guess just trying to find a new location more to their liking. I took them out of the display tank and put them in my refugium.
