Timing is everything Friday!

.......except for it being Friday, which it is.....

Good morning and HAPPY FRIDAY TO Y'ALL!

The 'timing' during a coastal storm is the thing to be watched. In this one's case, will the rains start early enough to keep me home? Doesn't look like it at the moment. Will the storm intensify quickly enough to send me home? Hmmmmm.... Will the winds arrive early enough to effect launches? Will the mere fact of a 'coming storm' keep people from wanting something......doing it SOON ENOUGH to not turn into something STUPID?
And it's the 2nd high tide of the day that these storm surges have the biggest effect on, and will that arrive at an 'inconvenient time'.......such as evening rush hours when everyone is trying to get out of Dodge with roads submerged?

Yeah, and interesting day, weekend lie ahead down here.

Coffee is on, and more Tasty Kake Chocolate cup cakes for your crumbly pleasure.

Peace and safe thing to All,
Hack

Mornin Hack. I love a good storm and the ocean seems to be able to whip one up out of nothing. Of the boaters I know Lake Erie here is very bad for that. It is shallow and gets mad quick.

Off today. Need to get the last wall of the fish room painted and some other chores then go get my son around 3. Better get at it.

Have a great day all.

Good morning.

I am just across the Lake, and yes it gets pretty rough.

Rain today.

Gave up on Mexican food last night, so we went to a neat BBQ joint I never knew existed.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning Hack, Rick, Perry and all.

just finished my chores with the fry. 100% water change in new fry. Will dose formaldehyde in a bit. Then about 15 gallons on older fry tank, all are fed 1st feeding if the day. The Screens on the filter tube work great. Pulled it out and cleaned it . It collected all the junk from the bottom of tub.

the storm came in over night and is gone. Not for high humidity and temperatures in the 90’s for the next three days.

Afresh pot of coffee is on and time to relax a bit.

Have a great Friday

Good mawnin’, Hack, Rick, Perry, and all of TRT!

got a run in a minute to go to an exercise class. But I have to say to Hack… from what you described in your original post, it sounds like you were talking yourself out of going to work. What happened to that? Ha ha ha ha

i’ll post more later.

Lots of love and hugs and peace to everyone!

The guys that work the hardest enjoy a surprise day off the most. That is what’s happening with that.

What is the formaldehyde for?
Taken from a site. Explaining the reason.
“It is a potent external fungicide, external protozoacide, and antiparasitic, and is thus an effective medication for eradicating external parasites, treating fungal lesions, and reducing the swelling from such infections. It is a wonder drug for treating cases of Popeye caused by trematodes, and also eradicates external nematodes.”

Thanks Vinnie, I thought it was something on those lines. Just didn’t know the end game there. Like puppies getting their first shots.

I am scrambling now. Finally got the ceiling painted now the last of the walls and cut in around the top. I need to leave in two hours to pick up the boy. Should be more than enough time. At this point in my build I have so many options I could be doing any of a dozen things. I know he wants to help me aquascape the reef so that is tomorrow. I also have RO/DI system to plumb in and a wonky filter to sort out. We will be making a stop at the good LFS on the way home so more doo-dads and gadgets. This is Fun!

Afternoon all,

AM run into town for a few grocery items ,, then rest of the day is all mine.

Rain overnite and still happening now,,, prob helping turn next week’s temps of 90 into a tropical humid setting. That, and stuff will start that much more in growing,,,

American Legion this evening a hr north , for fish fry and a couple adult beverages. A lady that worked for me back when in the LFS days part time bartends , and is a fish/dawg/bird person .Sis adopted a Eclectus parrot from her a few years ago, so we all still have that connection stuff.

On the the afternoon,,

Hope everyone is having a great day👍🏼

Good afternoon, Rick, Doug, Vinnie, and anyone who pops in now or later.

Rick, you’re so right about those at work extra hard are thrilled with the idea of a surprise half-day off or more. Sigh…with a hack not chiming in with comments or likes, I’m guessing he still at work. Bummer.

Oh boyyeeee! When you say doo-dads and gadgets to be had at the LFS on the way home, that sounds like you and your son are planning lots of fun and we get to see the results. Far out!
The way you and Perry described the unpredictable character of Lake Erie sounds like it gets your attention in a hurry.

Doug - Yay! I’m glad you had a good time out last night in spite of the poor quality of sound for the band. You kept it secret what your lady friend decided on her outfit for the evening. Do tell us.

Jeff - Your temps of 90 and humidity don’t sound like much fun or typical of your area. Bleah! Have a good time at the American Legion tonight!

We finally got more than a spitting of rain this afternoon, but not much. So we are dry, we are nowhere near the same situation as Santa Fe.😳

More later. I plan to be at the Group Meet tonight for a bit.

SO much grooviness, and soooooo little time to respond to all the threads today......Though I will give a shout out to Whiskey.....THAT was a coffee spitter! Yeah.....TONIGHT TONIGHT as in a latter NOW.

Cath, spent the majorty of the day on the creek waiting for 'IT' to arrive.....eventually it began to show up......in like a lamb, we'll see how it behaves now. Though I am well inland, folks have my number, and AIN'T AFRAID TO USE IT!

Looking forward to this evening's gathering, but sounds as though Rick will be doing Family stuff. BUT,m we got a Perry, and perhaps Whiskey, if'n He can figure out what day it is.

Things to do.....cheers,
Hack
