Do all the panel come off as needed , I need to skin by stand and wonder how you are doing it. I was thinking about making panel that can be removed instead of hinges .

This time I choose hinges for the ecstatics, because my family don't like the panels on the tanks. They say i always remove them and and don't place them back during maintenance.

Thursday, oktober 14, 2021 - #panoramareef - the esthetics (tryout)
Drill holes into the doors which serves as handles and placed magnetic doorlocks. Also experimenting with frontpanels for the looks of it.

The panorama reef is built in between. The emphasis here is that it must remain fun.
The "moments of inspiration" must come together. That is why we sometimes jump from one subject to another.
What makes it more complex is that I can't fill the panoramareef in one go as long as the DSR1200reef is positioned perpendicular to it, because of the maximum floor load.
Also the bad weather and the shorter days make it more difficult to keep on working.
Normally I like working in the garden when the weather is nice.
But everything is progressing steadily and the end result I am working towards is becoming visible.
Note: Keeping a diary/report from the beginning is meant as a reference for myself. It is especially easy to read back how you handled things in the past and how you could possibly improve in the future.

We are trying make it look better this time.

Saturday, 16oktober, 2021. #panoramareef- building a sump ?
I did not intend to use a sump as i was suppose to be done. I had some glas lying around in the garden, so i decided to build one either way.
Because is didn't want to support and remove a support beam i cut the sump in 2 parts, which will be glued together after the placement. Just having great fun building useless stuff

I love a challenge so, i always pickup new skills to apply practise and master. I guess for me it's the charm of this hobby with endless challenges.
The sump is straight and simple because i don't want all the complicated compartments which only require more maintenance.

Thanks, It looks pretty cool if i might say myself....
The only complicatition to this sump is that i have to build it into 2 piece to fit ang glue together alter the placement in the cabinet below.

I understand about the challenges, I like a good challenge but never built a tank. I did build a system like a jellyfish tank for raising by seahorse fry back when I raised them

Monday, oktober 19, 2021, #panoramareef - transplantation of the DSR1200reef.
This was quite a busy day aad leijendekkers come at 12:00 and we had quite a task moving all corals and fish and water from old tank to te new one
We try to do some scaping but we would not saw there was no time enough, so we just move all coral to segment3.
Some colonies were over 40 kilos and we could not move them out, so we start breaking them up in the tank.
Aad left at 17:00 after we emptied the old tank.

Saterday, oktober 23, 2021 - #panoramareef - the liftmechanism. Because the lightfixture was sitting on top of section2 i was not able to do any scaping to make place for the other corals, so i needed to mount the lifting mechanism to get acces to the tank. It took some measuring, fitting and welding to designing a mounting piece for the wire to bend the corners. But finally it was done.
