Since we're attempting to simulate a sand zone reef and micro atoll reef tank we don't need much in the way of rock-luckily since we're low on $. eventually the plan is to allow the micro atoll to grown into a full fledged reef-ambitious and patient plan requiring many more years than i have left on this earth. its a good thing that i plan children (aka frags) to continue carrying the torch.

Since we live next to the ocean (Hawaii to be exact-heck its a DREAM tank afterall:funny: ) and have a boat (large boat!) all the saltwater could be collected offshore to minimize contaminants

The only thing left to do is seed the tank with some faster growing SPS aka reef builders. we anticipate many hitchiker corals, softies especially, to be carried in by the un-cured live rock. for this we talk to our friend at NorthStarCorals.com

his favorite but tormented FAIRY Wrasse so we do that cuz that sounds very dreamy

we're in hawaii so lack of heat is never a problem-funny story-good friend from hawaii brought his car up here to minnesota for college and didn't ever realize his car had heat-ok you had to be there. but that explains in conjunction with the 3x400 lighting system why we're trying to get by without a $20 heater.

oh yeah and i have some spare Hair Algae B-Gone, Red Slime Remover, Quinsulex (for planaria), and this damned damsel i can't kill!-all to be apart of said DREAM TANK

that brings our total to...lemme do the math here...........$5000.00!

almost forgot-i traced this picture from my imagination of the tank "all grows up". after tracing i colored it with crayons and scanned it onto my computer. i know i have modest aspirations but i don't want to be dissappointed with my first big tank. you can see the fairy wrasse in the upper right strata of the tank.
