Hello Reefers!

Everyone does things different.......what is the process you guys go about changing your water?

I just take 4 gallons out of the sump then add 4 gallons back into it. I have no idea if that is good or not. I want to get some debris out of the main tank!

Get in boat, go out to clean water, fill up gas cans, haul gas cans to carport, dump in rubbermaid trough - repeat - repeat - repeat
Drag two hoses upstairs. One to siphon into canal. Other hooked up to pump in rubbermaid.
Siphon out as much detritus, stir up sand bed (shallow), and water as I can.
Pump new water in tank. Adjust siphon and pump so they are equally putting in and taking out for the rest of the water.
Add Ca and buffer.

Repeat monthly.

I put 10-15 gallons of RO water in a rubber maid container along with the correct amount of salt and mix it really good and let it set for 24 hours along with an air stone.
I then siphon out the necessary gallons of water from my reef aquarium and add the new saltwater to the tank! It takes me about 1/2 to 1 hour to complete it!:)

Thanks guys...........I am going to take the water straight out of the main tank on my next water change. I have a 55g and do 4 gallons a week.

I put 4 gallons in a bucket (tap water) add my salt, put a power head in the bucket to mix it.
