Hey all,
With my freshwater tanks, I've always used strips. The more I read up on SW, I now have the feeling that drops are the way to go. Any opinions on the matter?
If drops are the way to go, should I pick up the API Reef Aquarium Master Test Kit, along with the API Aquarium Amonia Test Kit?

Thank you in advance!

If I was going to do it again, I would get both. I was so excited watching it cycle, I wanted to test like twice a day :) the strips are cheap and fast, the batch I had was accurate. But there are stories about off results too.

The nitrate drops is a whole complicated procedure, the phos test doesn't tell you much you can use, and you won't probably need the calcium or alk for a while. But you want to be able to test if you think something weird is going on.

So I would have the strips for when you just want to take a peek and see the colors changing, and every couple days confirm with the drops.
