Ok Im having this problem in my salt water 75 gal tank. I have an aqueon sump refugium in the base of the tank all equipped with a protein skimmer, refugium with macro algae as well..

The water levels in the tank drop every week. Im assuming due to evaporation??

I have windows open around the tank constantly open. Could this be the problem??

It screws up the levels in the sump with skimmer, sometimes I get not enough flow from the overflow box into the third sump chamber causing the skimmer not to skim at the levels it should.

Should I just keep adding water everyday? It sounds annoying

most set up an ATO or auto topoff system on their tanks to replenish evaporated water.. it will help keep your salinity more consistant.. as for those sumps its on of their flaws im afraid.. they put the openings fo the other drains too low in them and evaporation is allowed to affect the entire volume instead of just the return section of the sump which is often the case..

Spectrapure makes a good one..

Or Tunze makes a very reliable one too.. hope this helps..

+1 your going to have top off everyday or set up an ato.

if you install a bubble trap or wall creating a section for the skimmer to sit in will keep the water level at a consistent level allowing the skimmer to perform at it's optimum level.
