you can try isolating the pump from the sides of the sump by using old neoprene mouse pads as vibration dampeners. i finally gave up on pumps and bit the bullet and replaced all of my pumps with Blueline Velocities. never heard a pump sound again. expensive and can add heat to the tank, but nothing is quieter.
if you can add a slight angle to the drain line from the overflow that should stop the bubbles from building up in the tube and causing the burping you are seeing. you can also drill a small hole just above the water line in the drain line going into the sump. this will give the burping air another way to escape besides out of the bottom of the tube.
