So we have had a feather for almost 2 weeks now. At first we placed him in the front of the tank for view about mid lvl in a rock crack. He came out once and awhile the first 5 days or so. Now he seems to be just sitting inside his tube being shy. We can see his crown in there and it still has plenty of color, but he just wont come out. We moved him into the substrate becuase of some reading up. Is this normal?
check your water! how old is your system? try feeding it with some filter feeder food with a turky baster. also what about the flow is it in high flow med flow low flow.
mine seems to like med flow.
It might be ok. I thought mine hated my tank, and was going to take her back to the lfs. That was a few weeks ago and now she is out quite a lot. I am learning slowly that critters are more hardy than we think.
Well he is out this morning and is looking good What should be considered a low to moderate current? Is it ok if his feathers are constantly moving? not harshly but constantly in a small current?
