Well after I got some Florida Turbo Snails and a Sand Sifter, I asked about some clams. We where talking and she told me that they got an order for those small red flaming electric or what ever they are called clams. They ordered 100 of them and 80 of them where dead. And at $20 each, it added up...She was telling me that when they harvest them from the ocean, they just cut the clams foot off. Poor clams, anyways just wanted to share some info....

If memory serves those are actually Scallops. I wasn't aware they fastened themselves via a "foot". I had a few about 3 yrs ago and whenever they fastened they used, for lack of a better term, strings.

those were prolly scallops. i thought they did not attach with their feet, but with "cables". i did not think that cutting these would hurt the scallop any.

were they all in the same bag. my guess is they all died from fouled water.:(

Flame Scallops is what they are... and they are notorious for dieing off quickly in captivity...

The worst part of the story I heard is that someone ordered 100 of them... The rest isn't suprising...
