Ok today I finally installed my RO unit under the sink, my question is, how long does it usually take for it to start making water? I tested it about 30 minutes after the water had been runnig to it and it hardly put anything out, maybe a 1/2 a glass of water?

How many gallons is it rated for? Sometimes it takes a little bit to produce what it is rated at. The RO membrane has to saturate or wet out.

it is a 75 GPD

i dont have my ro yet.. but i guess that sounds about right.

75 gallons per day should yield about 3 gallons an hour.

1.5 gallons per 30 minutes.

but i've heard they are much slower weh nfirst starting out because the membrane isn't fully saturated

alot also depends on your water presure into it. you may have low pressure in your home.

I tried it today, it is working much better, I guess it had to run a while, It leaked alot, I had to put pipe tape and all the screw connecters

BTW: most membranes are shipped "damp" (with preservatives)
a lot of them tell you to discard either the first 5 gallons or hr or water b4 use.so it flushes out the preservatives,,,
