Hey all,, just wondering , i'm using a "bare bone" RO/DI here ,35GPD,,,,, if i upsize the membrane (in about 4-5 months) to say,,,,100GPD or more, any other changes needed for my system? i don't think so, the housing is the same for all the sizes of membranes,,,stuff like mebbe another sediment in series with the other or something,,,or just upsize and ferget it,,,?
BTW: it's a Natures Way RO,,,
also i'm using a well for water,,the upsize will prob double my well pump cycling,,,,and waste water ,,,,right?
gonna more than double the cap. of the filter, so it makes sense the operation aspect of the filter will increase also?
Thanks!
i'm due for sediment/carbon block/and DI change , i'm gonna ask Nature's Way when i order,,,but i'd thought i would bounce this off you folks,,:)

I think it does not make any difference, but the price of the membrane. I got my RO unit from ARS and every system had the same carbon block and sediment block.
You can actually custom build your own RO/DI unit. ARS sells a rack to build a 7 stage unit. I guess you can choose how many carbon blocks, sediment blocks, DI units to put, and what type of membrane.

if your tds levels are very high you may have to steer clear of the high throughput membranes, as they apparently have a lower rejection rate. I have horrible water and I cant use the 100GPD because water that comes out is poor, 75gpd works great. This is what I was instructed to do by H20 Guru.

You will need a new restrictor. It's usually in the fitting screwed into the membrane housing on the waste water line. Different gpd membranes need different restrictors. So far I've had a 25, 65 and now a 50 gpd membrane in my ro, each one with a different restrictor. Very easy to change, less then 2 min. Bob
