Need some advice on treating and curing red slime algae, don't want to use chemicals and don't want an immediate fix, want a long term as permanent fix as possible.

If its cyano its bacteria. Water changes with ro/di and siphoning should do the trick, You could also try a 3 day blackout.

The best defense against cyanobacteria is to maintain low nutrient levels right from the start. O/DI water is a must, too much nasty stuff in tap and well water that can encourage ugly things to rear their heads.
