Changes in lighting, flow of addatives can do it. I wouldnt worry about it too much. Just keep an eye on it. It will come back maybe even in a different color. I had some of my pinks and purples turn to green in some areas at one time.
Most likely some small change caused it so just watch everything else in the tank. Is it just in areas that get low or indirect light? How old is the tank and when was the rock placed in it?

I've had this happen after phosphate levels got too high. That's been my only experience with it....
