I never acclimated my snails or hermits.
I just put them directly in the tank.
No quarantine, no drip, no float.
Not much to worry about on them.
For shrimp I always just float them for a little bit, but I'm not sure what the best route for that is.

Quarantining would be ideal. ;) Acclimating should definately be done, since it's easy enough to do, snails in particular are very susceptible to water param changes. I would float and drip acclimate for an hour.

Everything new going in the tank should be quarantined. I can't say I've always followed this rule tho; but I also once ended up with red bugs because I didn't quarantine a new batch of frags. ;)
