My protein skimmer is not working, it is in the sump of my tank and the pump on the skimmer just gargles even though it is fully submersed in the sump. I dont know what to do. Is it broke or am I just missing something

Try opening the pump and see if its clogged.

Have you tried tuning it off, filling the inside up with tank water then plug the air intake while turning it back on?
