Hi there im new to this but i would like as many responses as possible. I have a gorgeous green plate coral that i have had since febuary of 2009. It is starting to show skeleton in the front and i want to know if there is anyway to save it. The healthy part still inflates. I have heard of coral dip but it might be crabs stepping on the tissue. I want to save it while its still healthy so i would like any aswers or opinions and i will respond

I have huge red scarlets and blue hermits. I was ready to kill myself before you said that about the emerald crab. a few months ago i got a very small one very cheap and they are great for the green algea. If you have a problem with that which i did they are amazing for it. Anyways it got rid of the problem but after shedding 2 or 3 times it was monstrously big. I'm not kidding when i say this thing was a beast. I couldn't keep it because it was killing clove polyps and tons of other corals and things. So i got rid of it. Two months later i got that algae problem again and i got another small one. It shed twice and it is a beast too.. i don't know if its my tank that they eat a lot of algae but it is the same story. So far though this one isn't as destructive but showing signs.......Not to get off topic heh heh
IT could be worse but i have fed it and its looking good. (the plate coral) Still are there any stories or methods for bringing back corals like plate corals.

I Can Only Speak From My Exp..i Have Done Salt For 25 Yeras
And Reff On And Of For 15...i Have Had Some Corals..one A Plate Coral And A Slipper Coral Come To Mind And I Could Not Bring Them Back After That Melting Type Look..a Corner Would Start To Die Of And It Would Just Travel And Consume The Whole Piece.
Try The Lugols..a General Cure All For Bacterial And Tissue Type Diease. I Have Had Emelds B4 And Will Never Trust One Again. They Eat Clove And Cut Into Gsp Polyp Vines Squirting Their Juice Out..i Hate Those Guys.
Keep Us Up!

Yea...I've seen that look before...sorry.
Even if it was low calcium or something like that..by this point it usually doesnt turn out well..bacterial infections and such sets in.
Try the lugols...or just wait it out..bout all I would know what to do at this point.
