My PH seems to be heading down. It normally swings for 8.0 to 8.2 Last night it was 7.9 and it droped to a low overnight to 7.7

Cal 400
Alk 9 dhk
Mag 1400

other then adding buffer any sugestions on stopping the drop. I did a water change yesterday.

how old is the system. as sand beds mature they use up more oxygen, creating more CO2 causing the pH to drop. if anything your alk is high, but that is not what is causing this problem.

Sand bed does have some adge best guess a couple of years. :doh:I just realiesed I had to change out the controler on my RKE the other day and I never checked calabration of my probes and thats about when I saw a PH drop. I will recheck my probe when I get home before I do anything.
