OK, I've found a reasonably priced 55g tank set up for my Oscar, but the back of the tank has been painted blue...and he's black, red and grey...doesn't sound like a good color combo to me. Is there an easy process of removing paint? I'm thinking using a razorblade will work, but will it scratch the glass?

Cold water =) Paint starts to get all mushy as the tank fills and condensation forms. At that point ya can scrape it off with yer fingers.

A razor shouldn't scratch the glass as long as you're careful with the angle at which you're scraping and the blade has no nicks in it.

i change the back paint on my fw tansk every year or two.. and just use a razor blade in my hand. comes off no probs.

fwiw my oscars were black red and grey and i used a royal blue background for many years on their tank. the oscars stood out real well.
