I just got a LT plate coral and just put it in my tank last night.. This morning I found it moved from where I placed it about 3 or 4 inches.. I heard this is normal for them to move, but one thing that really concerned me is the coral swell up really really big! I heard that they inflate and deflate itself for movement but the one I have kept inflated really big and just stay like that at all time. Is this normal for LT plate coral? Should I be worry? Here are some pictures of what it looks like. I have seen other LT plate picture before and they didnt look quite this puffy and the one I got when I saw it at LFS it wasnt puffy like this either (OoO)!!!!???

It is normal for them to move. It will find its way across the tank back and forth doing as it pleases. From the photographs that you posted it looks healthy. As time goes by it will probably color up a little bit differently as it gets used to the lighting in your tank. In the meantime I suggest that you do feed it. But it looks like it healthy coral.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR REPLY!! it seem to be adjusting to the tank well. Yesterday he deflated down to normal size and extend the tentacles fully. I think he really like to move, I woke up this morning and it moved about an inch from where it was last night and it seem to be squashed against the front glass!!?? As you can see in the pictures, it inflated itself again. I guess for moving? it only move to the left side of the tank, I was wondered if it caused by the flow in the tank? and the part against the glass seem to have some brown spots? Are this brown jelly disease (OoO)!!!!???? Should I move it back to where it doesnt rub against the glass????

This is just something they do, they move. He will keep moving. The best thing is to just make sure he has a clear path. Chances are it will move away from the glass on its own again.

thank you again!! you were right, he did move away from the glass from his own and starting to extends the tentacles again. He looks happier now.. lol.. \(^O^)/

It's a good looking coral. If you have some mysis shrimp to feed it every few days it would like that.

I do feed my fish with mysis shrimp and I'll try to feed him with mysis shrimp as you recommended.. The problems may be that my fire and cleaner shrimp possibly try to steal the mysis from the corals.. They do that all the time when I try to feed my other corals.. LOL.. sneaky little guys..

That's okay, they will take what they can. As long as the coral gets a few.
