My emerald crab went into a 'cave' in one of the rocks and proceeded to build a wall with him/her behind it. It spent about a week taking coral, live rock frags, shells and one snail (I think it might have been still alive) and rearranging them until it had a pretty solid wall in front of it. Today, about a month later, the wall has been mainly collapsed and the crab is evidently gone. Hard to see in there tho.
Is this typical molting or birthing or something else behavior?
TIA
Jim

Im not sure how it works for emeralds but i do know they say with hermits they find a safe spot to leave there shell molt then will get back in there shell and stay hiddend for a couple days or so since there kinda soft after the molt. hopefully it just took some time to shed and hell be out and about later i notice mines more active at night.
