Hi all just recently added a live rock to my new 10 gallon aquarium. There seems to be quite a few starfish and sponge like creatures roaming in there now. Any beginner tips would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to TRT! The best advice I can offer is be patient and do lots of research. Most bad things in this hobby happen because of rushing. There are tons of friendly, knowledgeable people around here so don't be afraid to ask questions.
