I was recently given a jellyfish tank for free, just wondering if anyone has much experience with them.

It is a controversial topic online but I figured since it was free I might give it a try sometime.

Here is what I was given:

I heard they are a pita to take care of and they dont live long. Maybe I should just sell the tank?

Yup... First off, way too small to keep the majority of (available) pelagic medusae long term. And you have to do a bunch of mods to safeguard the jellies from getting sucked into the pump.

Many people have modded the crap out of them and made the safe. But its still very small. The only ones I would recommend would be certain species of ctenophores. There are also some small species of medusae, but being very small and translucent for the most part, they are almost never collected and hard to find.

So if you can find a suitable species and can jelly-proof it, keep it. If that's too much trouble, sell it.
