Last week, I had ordered a filamented flasher wrasse from liveaquaria.com.....

It was backordered....

He arrived yesterday...and is absolutely gorgeous and already eating flake! I've never seen colors like his before. These pics don't do him justice and I couldn't catch him "flashing"....

One more....

They just got a female filamented flasher at the LFS, but she's quite a bit bigger than my male and I'm a little hesitant to add her....

gorgeous!!!

i keep seeing all these pics of beautiful wrasses.. i asume they are reef safe, and friendly to tank mates?

when i setup the 75, i'm not transferring over the blue damsel, so my only aggressive fish will be my cinnamon clown, and i'm looking for some nice colorful fish that will not be aggresive and not be total ich mags like tangs.

but back to your thread. that sure is a pretty fish!!!!

The wrasses are active and get along well. The largest wrasse (the unidentified one) wakes everyone up in the morning when the a.m. lights come on. He serious is the first one up and swims into everyone's sleeping spots and gets them moving. He doesn't settle down until everyone is up. Then he swims up and down in front of the tank until I feed them breakfast.

They're beautiful fish...very active yet peaceful. The new flasher has claimed the cave under the BTA for his home, and so his only problems have been with the percs.

The only loss has been of the leopard wrasse.....haven't seen him since he went to bed the first night. I know they can have problems tolerating shipping, due to their propensity for trying to dive into the sandbed when scared and they hurt themselves in the bag.

****....why do I have to go to work tomorrow?? Oh yeah....gotta pay for the tank.....

Great looking fish :)

I know they're generally peaceful, but do they all dive into the sand? what does your sandbed look like? :D

The leopards dive and the coris dive. The fairies are not divers....they actually form a mucous cocoon to protect themselves in at night.

The prices vary widely on them. Some of the new ones from the solomons are pretty pricy. On of the problem with them is the Japanise market pays much more for the rarer ones than the American market; so we rarely see more than a few vareities.
