I just installed my new Reeflux 12 k's this evening. Single ended 250 watt x 2. Previously I had some no name 10k bulbs that came in some cheap retro kits. They bleached, or contributed to, my coral and were looking very yellow in six months time.
My question is about burn in. These 12 ks are very blue to me. Im sure the change from the cheap bulbs to real bulbs has much to do with it but I was just curious about burn in. Will the visible color change much? How long is a general time for bun in?
The ballasts are electronic.

Typical burn in time is 50-100 hours. The Reeflux will go a tad more white as they burn in, but not so much that you will notice the gradual change.

I've read that the 'bluer' spectrum is supposed to be better for the corals. Do you not like the blue?

I like it, thats why I changed spectrum along with wanting better color in the coral. I was just wondering about burn in time n change.

It will change a bit, but probably not real noticeably - I can tell you that you will become more used to the blue when you don't have something whiter to compare it too
