Hi everyone, I just started a 10 gallon reef tank 3 days ago. I got aged live rock and water from another tank to start with so it would make the cycling process a little easier. My concern is the tank is starting to smell a bit and I wasn't sure if this was normal or not also can I do anything to fix it. I'm new to reefing but I have been reading a lot on TRT so I've done my homework. Im still a little unclear on the cycling process, will water changes hurt the process? Any help on this would be great.

A tank is going to have some smell... but it should smell lightly of the ocean when you are right on top of it. If it smells like ammonia or rotten fish, I would say you had some die off on the rock and it is re-curing a bit.
