Good mawninā, Hack and all of TRT!
thanks for the coffee, Hack! I was mixed up about what day it was to. Iām glad you confirmed it. This is an unusually slow start to the morning thread. Whatās up with that?
since youāre out and about for your breakfast, Iāll get something started here. To go with that coffee. Iāll offer large hot muffins. This time they are made with diced up fresh apples. Maybe Rick could come off duty just to get a muffin. And then we need to have homemade egg McMuffins. And nanners to take with you wherever youāre going, but be careful about those banana peels.
Today I have a Daughters of the American Revolution meeting. The curious thing about this chapter is that not every meeting has something to do with the American Revolution. This is one of those days but I will enjoy it anyway because itās an interesting topic. The good thing about DAR is that it is a service organization. I did not know that until I joined. DAR has a long history of community involvement and reaching out to people in need. One thing weāve been doing this year is reaching out to a new facility for homeless female veterans in South Carolina. Itās a travesty that veterans of any kind become homeless. Of course, itās a shame for anyone to be homeless but itās especially bad for veterans.
A few years ago a group of city designers in downtown Spartanburg thought it would be a good idea to move the statue of General Daniel Morgan again. (Daniel Morgan was an important general in the southern campaign in the American Revolution. The battle of Cowpens was the turning point in the Revolution, and it was because of the superior leadership of General Daniel Morgan, that surpassed British Lieutenant Colonel Benastre Tarleton. (I donāt know much about military history, but I know about the Battle of Cowpens and itās importance.) Anyway, that change did not happen in Spartanburg, and it was largely due to the work of local DAR members.
Whew! I really got off topic on that.
Keep it groovy today!
Lots of love and hugs and peace to everyone!
