I may have ditched the idea of going with a controller for now and put my money towards a reactor to keep my calcium levels up. I was thinking of either a Nilsen Reactor or a Kalkwasser reactor. Any thoughts on either? Should I get one with a powerhead agitator or a magnetic agitator?
Thats the reactor I was looking at on my reef creations. They look nice. Their small unit says it handles 2-3 gallons of evaporation per day. I was thinking of the Nilsen reactors then saw the kalkwasser reactor and it got me thinking. I wasn't sure which one was better.
They both work on Kalkwasser. If It was me I go with MRC. Call them and talk to them "Andy" and tell him what You want. You may have to leave a message. But he will call back in a day or so. depends how busy they are.
I don't want to have to add anything else to keep calcium up or have to dose anything else thats why I want to get the reactor. My Reef creations says you can fill it with 4 full cups of kalk. Thats a lot of kalk.
That just a Kalk reactor and you won't need to add anything else. I use to drip Kalk and it was pretty good. I have a MRC Calcium Reactor. and I may need to add Kalk at some time. I'm not sure. It will depend on the load the tank hads and demand of the tank.
