I just read an older artical that states Pickling lime (calcium Hydroxide) is thesame as Kalkwasser? true/false? and how is this different Baking Soda or is it best to use B-onic with the vitamins? or am I comparing apple to oranges?
i heard that its the same thing just that pickling lime doesnt dissolve as quick because it might be bigger grains. Ive never used it since Ive only seen one tank that has used it, and he got away from it since it burned his corals.
Kalkwasser or Lime for calcium supplement -
"Both lime and quicklime are suitable for making limewater (kalkwasser) and otherwise supplementing calcium and alkalinity in reef aquaria."

Baking Soda for pH -
"For home brews, washing soda (sodium carbonate) or baked baking soda would be better than normal baking soda (sodium bicarbonate)."
