Hey all! I have a 36 gallon bowfront and will be adding a 20 gallon sump with refugium as soon as my custom stand is finished. I currently have 35 lbs of live rock, 50 lbs crushed coral with black sand as my base and run a marineland c220 filter with a coralife 65g skimmer. I'm putting in the sump to eliminate the majority of the equipment in the dt and the refugium as a place to keep my insanely plentiful pod population going lol. I currently have a pink pin cushion urchin, red bristle star, 2 small true percs, mandarin goby, tail spot blenny, assorted snails and hermits, peppermint shrimp, 2 sexy shrimp and a rock flower anenome. Is there anything you all would add/subtract from the equation? All creatures seem happy and water tests well every time.

ty! all the things that i have read are terrible for your tank lol: carbon bags, filter pads etc. all came stock and I have replaced them cleaned them as suggested by manufacturer. I never thought anything of using them bc my buddy with a tank uses one on his. but I have since spent the past months reading other opinions on the matter and finally decided to ditch it for a sump

I actually have a small area of green star polyps but I figured that would just help the clown feel more at home lol. I had read that they love to live and feed among them in the wild...

I have a clown goby that constantly sits in either the center of my toadstool or the edge of my Galaxea...even when the sweeper tentacles are way out!
Crazy fish, but loads of personality!
I love how he sits on the side of the tank wall and when the wavemaker kicks on the current slides him backwards all the way to the corner. Hilarious to watch lol!
that's an awesome story! yep we are def gonna get one :) now just to find one we like at an lfs around here. may just have to end up ordering online...
