I think it's just a decorator crab that covered itself with shrooms...

Can I buy a decorator crab and have it grab a mushroom?

If it grabs a coral will it keep them on or will it just dump it off later?

Idk. After it molts, it might put them back on, like the pom pom crab does when it molts. It take its anemones and reattaches them to his claws.

How aggressive do you think this crab will be towards other crabs, inverts, and fish?

depends what inverts and fish. he's pretty cool though. If I knew for sure that he would hold on to his mushrooms, I would've most likely bought him by now. Lol

Same here. It is a pretty peaceful tank. I am worried about him harming my feather duster, pom pom crab, and cleaner shrimp(even though I don't have the first two, I will be getting them).

Idk.... Decorator crabs can be pretty opportunistic. If you really want to, try it and see what happens. At least in the end, you'll be able to say, "I had a crab that carried around corals." Lol. If you do keep it, keep it well fed (spot feed it every night, or more), which will lower the chances of it going after shrimp.

Some people like crabs. Some people find crabs beneficial and a necessary and fun addition to their thank. I respect these people.

I, myself, am of the opinion that crabs are for eating, not for reefing.

Might be fear. Might be experience. Might be genetic.
