I have been playing with LED's and really like the way they look...they are 470 nanometers wavelength so corals will have the florecence (sp) similar to actinic...LED's are around $1.00 each and can be run on as low as 3.5 volts...you'll need to do some diy'ing with solder, a resistor, and cord, but if you enjoy that type of stuff it is a pretty simple thing to make....

Radio Shack has all of that stuff albeit a little more $ (their LED's are $2-4 each)...
