Hi got home from work tonight , and the head feathers of my feather duster is laying on the bottom of the tank. The tube is still intack and standing like I last saw it. Cant tell if the worm is still in there. Is this normal or dead?

im definitely no expert on feather dusters ..im just the moron who got a baby duster and dropped adult crown in the mail with an adult and cut the adults head off not knowing he was in there:rolleyes:

They do drop their crowns though sometimes.....im not sure if it is a molt or a sign of being stressed or possibly both. If the tube is still standing at attention i would say most likely he is fine though and just let him be.......

yeah, both of mine have shed their crowns, and in a few weeks you'll see the new crown peeking out of the tube. No worries!

As far as knowing if it is in there(which it probably is) if you press lightly on the tube it will feel firm if the snail is still inside it.
