MAXIMA are they hard to care for?!?

I keep seeing these on this site and I really like them, how hardy are they? Are they reef safe!

I think it may need more...I dont know for sure though...I know a MH would do the job, thats one reason I got my 175w MH....looks like I will be getting a 250w MH also....
