A good old fashioned banana and coffee here Hack. Good morning Sir. Will be in the truck shortly and off to the day. Sunny and nice here. Just checked the tank and my dead shrimp is still quite dead. I will clean the sponges and fiddle with my new tester kit later. The temp seems to have settled down just around 79F so may try to dial that back a scoootch.

Have a great day all.

Top of the *orning Rick! Yeah that work thing surely does cut into the *ore i*portant things in our' lives don't it?
Sounds like you've got your tank heading the right direction. Having that truly deceased shrimp in a little mesh bag will make it a little less of a mess co*e re*oving it ti*e......not sure if you did or didn't?
Enjoy the day my Friend,

Good mawnin’, Hack, Rick, Perry, and all of TRT!

Thanks for the coffee, guys, and blueberry PopTarts, Hack, and nanners from Rick. I’ll offer up dressed up oatmeat…. He’s still chilly here today.

Hack I hope your day is a regular day but none of that crazy weather kind of day, or demanding customers 🤪.

Rick how was your weekend with your sons? That’s pretty much how I did the top of my tack. Somewhere around here I may have a photo of that one lone shrimp in my 29.

Perry, enjoy running something new at your job today. Looking forward to your end of the day report.

Vinnie, what’s going on with you today? I bet you had a crowd to help eat up all those muddy crawdads.

Jeff, reporting please about your weekend with your family and your nephew’s birthday. Congratulations on his graduation!

Welp, there was a small 3.9 earthquake in Columbia overnight. Columbia is the capital of South Carolina and is an area we called Midlands. We get them every so often around here too. The most significant earthquakes have been in the Charleston area.

On with the day!

How to love and hugs and peace to everyone!

As the saying goes:

It doesn't matter if you fix it right. What's important is that you make the next flight.

Vinnie great photos.

Morning all,

Coffee and a breakfast burrito to offer up this morning.

Cath, middle nephew’s b-day went great,, said “ until next time I see you” goodbyes to youngest nephew, going into the Army with the Drum corp.
Attached pond sun shade/heron ( hopefully) deterrence fabric triangle , and shored up a fence panel or two that needed it.

As the norm , typing this in the boid room as the parrots either are checking out the grub of the day or exploring outside of the cages.

77 and a bit windy today, think outside chores are in the list. Had started to post on yesterday’s thread, found out last nite I never finished or submitted,,, grrr.

Hooked up the pole barn well pump and tank after the both of them overwinter’d in non freezing spots.
Had to fix a busted PVC 3/4” pipe from last fall’s remove action ,,, thought I was safe from having to go to the hardware store,,, sooooo close🥴. Did the 20 mile round trip for a connector,,, of course I grabbed FIVE,,, take THAT next time I do this again, haha.

Dixie rescue rep called last night, might have a new bonded pair of long ( one for sure, the other is a mebbe /partial Doxie) dawgs. Said to be father n son, jury still out on that . Rescue Prez has to make the final decision to pull them from the local humane society. They do Doxie mixes on occasion,,, time will tell.
Pic below

hope everyone has a great day 👍🏼

The weekend with the boys was great Cath, thanks for asking. The weather was very good and most of our time was spent in the back yard. Watched the Formula 1 race and BBQ. Great start to the summer season.

Good looking pups Jeff. They have the white muzzle that lets you know they are experienced nappers.

Afternoon /early evening all.

Gold star effort day here, lowered the back pasture with the Ferris zero turn,,, had to go over a few rows to cut/disburse the cuttings since it was so high ( first mow this season ) but most all lowered around here, short of where the big stuff can reach.
Pressure washed most of the lowering team here, since the Ferris needed it , why not🤷🏻‍♂️👍🏼.

Opened up the house windows for the fresh country air,,and currently in the boid room for a afternoon visit , so those windows are 1/2 open and the parrots are bonkers with the “outside” blowing in.

Got the word this morning that I AM getting those two Doxie fellas tomorrow,,,, 6 dawgs here now , what’s 2 more short timers🤷🏻‍♂️👍🏼😂.

REALLY enjoying the first real nice summery day,,,, wakes up a lot of “feel goods “,,, been a long time.

On to the evening

'Summer Breeze'.....makes me feel fine ALSO!

We've had a few this year so far Jeff, and MAN ARE THEY NICE! Good luck with the extended herd for a bit.....hope they be well behaved for Ya.

The day on the creek was BLUSTERY at best....cold and WINDY would be more fitting. 30 - 40 mph winds, made that 60 F not feel like it so much...2 hoodies and a jacket n gloves to get the ponies moving this morning.

Grilled cheese for dinner, a steamy shower, and feet soaking in a hot foot tub......We'Z good!

Well Perry, did Ya get what You expected, or pleasantly surprised? Hope the latter.

We launched.....TRIED to launch the 1941 42' Chris Craft today. Each year se's becoming more and more neglected.

Wooden boats when you launch them, have to hang in the slings for a few hours for the boards to 'swell up' and stop leaking.
Checking the bilge in this one when I launched it today, not only did I see the usual water coming in between the planks, I saw day light through a section! Waters one thing...big enough to see day light is something a wee more worthy of attention.

Hauled it back out and commenced caulking the bad seams with cotton and 4200.
Motor vehicle Aircraft Vehicle Wood Gas

I stuck a nylon wire tie through the whole from the inside ......just in case I couldn't find it.

Motor vehicle Aircraft Vehicle Wood Gas

The whole board was bulged out, and most of the seam between them were in need of recaulking.

Boat Naval architecture Watercraft Motor vehicle Wood

You gouge out the section of old caulk/cotton, and smooze the new cotton in caulk, this case 4200, and beat it into the seems with a chisel made for just such a task. Then of course we painted over it.
Solved the problem......OPENED A CAN OF WORMS though....We don't do wooden boats, and sure don't reseal them. Hadn't done this since..... .......a LONG TIME AGO when I used to work on wooden boats...back in the day when boats WERE MADE OF WOOD. But now, next time we say we DON'T, someone will say 'Well you just DID!'.

We were having 30 - 40 mph winds, so after the boards swelling all day, we hauled it BACK OUT and keel blocked it for the night. This way we can relaunch her in the morning and tie it up, and have the whole day to keep an eye on it, rather than leaving her alone over night.

Hi everyone! I better get this post before you all start snoring out there.🤣

Vinnie it looks like some of the people at your shindig had some huge plates. Well no they were plates…they looked like big cake pans to contain the crawdad mess. Is that a pretty standard style?
In any case, it looks like great fun was had by all.

Jeff - I gotta say I was a little bit concerned about bird room window was partway open. I know you are an experienced bird keeper, but what’s to keep them from flying out the window? 😳

Enjoy the two new rescue doxies

Hack - Man, you sure were dressed up with layers of work clothes to keep you warm today! How can you even move wearing all that?

Ah yes, the aroma of the air in spring! I get the sweet aroma of ligustrum outside my breezeway. Delicious!

Nitee nite for Cath. Had keeps falling off. 😴

Ha! Jeff, I just caught myself before i failed to post my message. I was about to close up shop on my post, and then I went back to look at the thread and saw Hack’s post about “ not working on wood boats.” Lo and behold, there was my post waiting to be launched, so to speak.

No I am REALLY posting this.
