It appears that the fandangly new idea is to use magnetic mounts for power heads or wave makers instead of suction cups. Is this because when the cup fails (as it always does, with time) there's catastrophic problems?
If so, why can't I find a good DIY for replacing existing suction cup mounts with magnetic mounts? The ones that can be bought for $20 each is a tad pricy for a magnet wrapped in plastic IMHO.
I already have several sizes of rare earth magnets at home to play with, but it's only $12 to get a handful of the epoxy coated ones from amazon... not sure what size I should get for my existing pumps though.

the good thing about magnet is that you can move it almost anywhere on 1 side of the wall without the need of putting your hand inside the water.
